This week, we worked on our general skills as well as our creativity! We were given 6 different activities for the lab.
The first activity we did was to stand in one place and take 24 different photos without moving our feet. I really love the post the swan made in this one, and I like that the swan in the background is making a similar pose!!
The second activity was to take 10 abstract or unique photos of a small item. I chose the rope from a lifebuoy ring. I love how the pattern is only in focus in the center of the image, I think the yellow stands out really well too!
The third activity was to take a photo of a single object in each corner of the frame. I wasn't really happy with any of these, but this is as close as I could get to what I wanted. I chose the bird in the top right corner as my subject, if the bird beside him wasn't there it would have been perfect! However I love the reflection of the water in this image.
The fourth activity was to take 10 pictures of a scene we were happy with. I chose this gathering of sea birds at the lake. It nearly looks like a busy social gathering! I really like the composition and the reeds in the very back of the image.
The fifth activity was to take 10 photos with a certain restriction. I chose to shoot things that were only on the ground. I think the exposure is a bit low for this image, but it gives it a sort of sad or creepy tone. I like how the feather stands out from the green and orange of the grass and leaves.
The sixth activity was to recreate a photo we found online. I chose the image of actor Dean Norris frowning that went viral a few months ago. I had to fiddle with the camera settings to get the right lighting. Darja helped out by holding my camera torch right under Ryan's face to get the intimidating lighting. Ryan was finding it hard to keep a straight face but I think it turned out pretty good in the end!
