This week, we learned how to adjust the white balance on our cameras for different lighting scenarios!
The Early Childhood Development and Education students on our campus set up a "wellbeing" tree for one of their modules. I really liked this little guy having a hell of a time, so I took a photo of him. This is the edited version, I tried to tone down the reds of the photo so that the man stood out a bit more, this was done using the colour mixer in Adobe Bridge Camera Raw.
I chose to upload this photo since I liked how bright the white was against the greens and browns of the trees. I achieved this by using the "measure" function on my camera. This helped me to get a good white balance without too much fiddling.
One of the tasks we were assigned involved us finding primary colours in nature. I wasn't able to find all three colours together, however I think the mix of red and yellow is really nice, it kind of makes the shot look like a video game with how solid the colours are, and the definitive shapes of the flowers on each plant.
This is my second edited image. I don't think there's much difference, however I still think the image looks better edited than not. I tried to make the picture less red once again, using the colour mixer in Adobe Bridge Camera Raw. I also like the angling of the photo, it kind of gives the shot a chaotic, or even wacky feel.
This is the unedited photo.
