Using the built in flash (Studio Photography 07.02.22)

This week, we used our lab time to understand how the built in flash on our cameras work in dark areas, light areas and outside.

This image was a result of both me and oliwia taking a picture at the same time. I think we managed to get really even lighting on Darja, I really like the outcome, even if it was accidental!

We were taking pictures in the hallway and I noticed that the wall closest to me had been lit up by the flash, giving more even lighting to the image. I found the difference the flash made to my indoor pictures really interesting.

This was me trying to imitate fashion photography. I wasn't able to lean down far enough to actually look through the viewfinder, that's why Darja's head is cut off. I thought the fall off in light the further away Darja's body was was interesting, her legs are more lit up than her shoulders.

One of our tasks was to take a photo of someone infront of a window. I found it really easy to get good lighting for this thanks to the flash, however the exposure on the buildings outside could probably be a little bit better.
