This week we were experimenting with external camera flashes and figuring out how to get different lighting effects.
I got this lighting effect by pointing the flash right to the ceiling. The lighting is nice and even over the entire photograph
I took this one by pointing the flash at myself. Some light bounced back but the photo is still pretty dark.
I got this photo by pointing the flash to the right, away from Darja. It gives the impression that she's standing next to a window, when in reality it's just light from the flash.
This was probably the most difficult photo to take. We had to get a photo with a hard shadow behind the subject. We were struggling for ages to get the right effect, we finally got it when we turned the camera upside down with the flash pointing up towards the subject!
Overall, I've learned a lot from today's lab and I'm excited to work with it more in the future!
